What does PlanSentry monitor?
PlanSentry monitors a public URL containing pricing, plans, packages, limits, or related commercial information. One URL is one monitor. It prioritizes pricing-relevant content rather than treating every visual edit as an important change.
What can it detect?
Depending on what a page exposes clearly, PlanSentry can structure plan names, numeric prices, currencies, billing periods, seats, storage, credits, usage limits, included features, support language, annual offers, advertised savings, and months-free promotions.
How is this different from a generic page-change tool?
Generic monitors report that a page changed. PlanSentry is designed to explain the commercial move: which price, plan, package signal, or annual offer was added, removed, or changed—while keeping the raw evidence available.
How often are pages checked?
Free monitors run daily or weekly. Pro unlocks hourly, every 6 hours, every 12 hours, daily, and weekly schedules. Manual checks are also available, subject to reasonable rate limits.
Will it work on every pricing page?
No monitoring system can guarantee every website. PlanSentry uses a normal fetch first and can use browser rendering for JavaScript-heavy pages. Anti-bot systems, login walls, regional content, unusual markup, or private pages can still prevent reliable capture. Monitor health makes those failures visible.
Does PlanSentry use AI to guess prices?
No. Detection is grounded in stored page snapshots and deterministic parsing. PlanSentry does not invent prices or silently replace the underlying evidence. When a page cannot be structured confidently, the raw captured change remains available.
What happens when a change is detected?
The event is stored in history, classified by type and severity, and shown with its supporting added and removed content. Eligible alerts can be delivered immediately, as a daily or weekly digest, or through a configured webhook.
What are smart thresholds?
Thresholds let you focus notifications on selected conditions, such as a minimum percentage increase, a price above or below a target, removal of a free tier, or addition of an enterprise plan.
Can I compare competitors?
Yes. Use groups and tags to organize the portfolio, open competitor profiles for focused history, and use the pricing matrix for a consolidated view across monitored pages.
Are screenshots public?
No. Captured pricing-page screenshots are stored privately and delivered through short-lived signed links to the authenticated owner of the monitor.
Can I pause, remove, or export my data?
Yes. Pausing keeps existing history while stopping scheduled checks. Removing a monitor deletes its application history. You can export your workspace and change data as JSON.
What plans are available?
Free includes one tracked pricing page with daily or weekly checks. Pro is $5 monthly or $29 annually for unlimited tracked pricing pages and faster schedules.
How is billing managed?
Subscriptions use Stripe-hosted Checkout. Signed-in customers can manage payment methods, invoices, and cancellation through Stripe’s customer portal. PlanSentry does not receive or store complete card numbers.
Is PlanSentry publicly available?
Yes. Anyone can create an account, confirm their email, and start on Free. The monitoring workspace and customer data require authentication.
